Genetics
At Barleors Labradoodles we breed for three specific traits in order:
| 1.
Temperament Your puppy has come from temperamentally sound parents and has been bred in a loving home environment. We believe that a kind and happy disposition is the most important thing about a Labradoodle and that its gentle and affectionate nature must be preserved at all costs. Our puppies are Temperament Tested using the Volhard's test at 7 weeks of age. With this knowledge we can be pretty sure we've matched the right puppies to the right people. |
2. Confirmation It goes without saying that your puppy is a product of his or her parents. So the genetics of both mum and dad have been carefully scrutinised before a decision about mating was even made. The Health Testing page shows you what inherited diseases we check for. This is, we believe, this is way-over-and-above what most people test for. Please, PLEASE, don't buy from untested stock. This simply lines puppy-farmer's pockets, people simply in it for the money with no regard to the health of the puppies that they produce. |
3. Coat As we don't breed for allergy sufferers the coat type is, for us at least, somewhat immaterial. If, however, we were forced to state our preference, it would be for chocolate scruffies - but so long as the Mind and Body are sound we really don't mind!
